Report: CT SCAN OF THE PARANASAL SINUSES The history of nasal blockage with intermittent pain in the region of the frontal sinuses is noted. The frontal sinuses and the frontoethmoidal recesses are clear. Mild mucosal thickening is noted within the most anterior of the right ethmoid air cells. The remaining ethmoid air cells are clear. There is a localised polyp associated with the floor of the left spheoid sinus measuring 12x5mm.Elsewhere,the sphenoid sinuses are clear. The ostium of the sphenoid sinus and the adjacent sphenoethmoidal recess appear to be patent on both sides . Both maxillary sinuses are clear. The ostium of the maxillary sinus and the adjacent infundibulum are patent on both sides . There is no significant deviation of the nasal septum. No focal nasal polyps identified. No obvious pathology visualised in the posterior nasopharynx. normal and symrnetrical . The mastoid air cells and middle ear cavities are fully aerated. |
