Examples of tactics in Treatise on Cold-Attack
and those in Thirty-six Tactics
Abstract: A Chinese martial book, named Thirty-six Tactics, discussed different tactics used in wars. And at the present time, the thirty-six tactics have been applied not only to military affairs, but also widely to political, diplomatic, economical and technological fields by a variety of countries in the world. In Chinese medicine, tactics have also been carefully used, and in voluminous Chinese ancient books, there have embedded abundant therapeutic tactics, which were the experiential conclusions of Chinese ancient doctors in their clinical practices. These tactics, if been summarized, will be greatly beneficial to the clinical Chinese medicine. Treatise on cold-attack was finished by Zhang zhongjing based on “diligently seeking ancient admonishments, and widely collecting massive formulas”. In this book, therapeutic tactics were well enriched, and had been effectively guiding the clinical Chinese medicine for almost 2,000 years. The author of this article, in his teaching and researching work on Treatise on Cold-Attack, found that this book not only had integrated therapeutic principles and methods, but also contained sapiential tactics in aspects of composition, presc**tion, decoction and so on, and the later formed Thirty-six Tactics had all been revealed in this book. In this article, the author showed us about 6 examples to illustrate Zhongjing’s therapeutic tactics, which the readers might be enjoying.
